The Platinum Protection Limited Warranty is the most complete warranty Owens Corning offers on a new roof. It covers the materials and the installation, and Owens Corning backs both. Only an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor can install and register it. Landmark Roofing is one.

What the Platinum Protection warranty covers
Owens Corning offers several warranty levels. Platinum Protection is the top one and the only one that covers workmanship in full for 25 years. Here's what it includes on a single-family home.
Materials
Owens Corning shingles and roofing components carry a limited lifetime warranty. For the first 50 years, product defect coverage is non-prorated and includes the cost of tear-off and disposal, subject to limitations.
Workmanship
If an installation error causes leaks or affects how the roof performs, Owens Corning covers the repair in full for the first 25 years. After that, coverage is prorated based on the roof's age. For comparison, Owens Corning's Preferred Protection warranty covers 10 years of workmanship.
Wind and Algae
Blow-off coverage lasts 15 years, with the wind rating set by the shingle line you choose. StreakGuard algae resistance is covered for 25 years when qualifying Owens Corning hip and ridge shingles are installed. Algae resistance availability varies by region.
Transfer to a New Owner
If you sell your home, the warranty can be transferred one time. The new owner registers the transfer with Owens Corning within 60 days of the sale and pays a $100 fee. Some coverage changes after a transfer.

Do I need a full roof replacement to qualify?
Yes. The new roof has to be installed over a clean deck, with all existing roofing material and debris removed. The warranty does not apply to repairs, patches, or new shingles laid over your current roof.
What has to be installed for my new roof to qualify?
Owens Corning requires a complete roof system made up of Owens Corning shingles, Owens Corning synthetic underlayment, Owens Corning hip and ridge shingles, and two of these three: Owens Corning ice and water barrier, starter shingles, or VentSure ventilation. The entire system must be installed by a Platinum Preferred Contractor.
Who registers the warranty?
Your Platinum Preferred Contractor does. Owens Corning requires the contractor to register the warranty within 60 days of installation.
